Turkey Day 1

After the not-so-unusual delays and some problems with luggage when we arrived, we went to the usual Hacibaba Restaurant not far from Taksim Square for our first dinner in Turkey.  Our hotels are in the  Eminönü neighborhood of the Fatih district of Istanbul.  This is in the middle of the old city, which will allow us to walk to most of our sites tomorrow.

Our hotel is, er, "economical."  Tiny, old rooms and internet that is WiFi but otherwise about 20 years old in performance, which is straining under the weight of all our students trying to use it.
